Ohio's non-attorney notary commissions expire after five years. You must submit a notary public renewal application in the three-month window prior to the expiration date. Once your commission expires, there is not a grace period to renew so you must file a new notary public renewal application for a notary commission, which requires additional training and testing. Don't miss the deadline!
