Ohio Notary Services provides two options for the required education to Renew your Ohio "traditional" notary commission. You may attend an in-person session at a location around the state or you may complete the education online. The choice is yours!
COVID-19 UPDATE REGARDING TRADITIONAL NOTARY COMMISSION RENEWALS:
Since it has become difficult to obtain a BCI background check during the pandemic, the Secretary of State is accepting renewals with the education certificate and in lieu of a BCI report, renewing notaries can upload a statement which states “Due to the Coronavirus, I am unable to obtain a BCI report, but I will mail or email a BCI report to the Ohio Secretary of State by December 31, 2020 or may be subject to cancellation.”
The BCI report can later be sent to email@example.com or Ohio Secretary of State, Notary Commission, 22 N. Fourth Street, Columbus, OH 43215.
